General information

The Bank Guarantee Fund is active internationally, engaging in and developing cooperation with deposit guarantee institutions throughout the world, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

The Fund is a member of international organisations affiliating deposit guarantee institutions on both a European level (i.e. the European Forum of Deposit Insurers - EFDI) and a global level (i.e. the International Association of Deposit Insurers - IADI). These organisations provide a forum for international consultations, as well as for undertaking joint ventures furthering the development of effectiveness in the operation of deposit guarantee institutions at a global level on the basis of exchanging domestic experiences.

As part of its international activity, the Fund analyses the operation and directions of development of guarantee schemes throughout the world, particularly in countries in which credit institutions operating in the territory of the Republic of Poland through a branch office or through cross-border activity have their registered offices.

Another important aspect of developing foreign contacts is the conclusion of bilateral agreements with foreign deposit guarantee institutions regulating general principles of cooperation and exchange of information on the principles and conditions of deposit guarantees applied by individual deposit guarantee schemes.
